Figma Config 2025: Creativity, Collaboration, and the Future of Design

Every year, Figma’s Config brings the global design community together to explore what’s next in design, collaboration, and digital creativity. This year’s 2025 conference was no exception—packed with major feature drops, bold visions for the future, and new ways to rethink how design, development, and marketing teams work together. Our team at Prismo Marketing had the opportunity to attend, and we’re still buzzing (pun intended) with excitement about what’s coming next.

SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
It’s hard not to be swept up in the energy of the Day 1 keynote—even from a screen, it felt huge. Sites, Draw, Buzz, Make… it was announcement after announcement, and honestly, it might’ve been one of my favorite keynotes in years. That said, one of the talks that really stayed with me was Writing is Designing by Andy Welfle. His style was super engaging (shoutout to the FigPal memorial), but the content itself really challenged me. He stripped all the words out of familiar apps like DoorDash to show how critical UX copy actually is—and it was rough. It made me rethink how tightly content and design are woven together. Like, could someone navigate your layout with zero words? And if not, how do we create stronger visual cues and clearer direction without losing personality?
The tool I’m most hyped about? Figma Sites, without a doubt. The idea that we can click to publish a fully designed site—and update responsive layouts across breakpoints without redoing everything—is kind of blowing my mind. It’s giving “goodbye constraints” energy. I just need one bold client who’s willing to let me test the limits. Even if we don’t use it for final launch, the responsive editing alone is going to save me hours. It’s like finally being handed the keys to the creative playground—no more designing in fear of dev limitations.

I was completely hooked on the Figma Buzz deep dive. I didn’t expect it to be as powerful as it is—at first glance, it seems like a simple branded template tool, but once they got into Focused Editing and Freeform Editing, I was all in. Buzz lets you build something once, lock down the stuff that has to stay on brand, and then open up just the areas people need to update—perfect for non-designers. It’s structured, but still flexible. I was literally mid-session and already thinking of how we could use it internally to speed up production without sacrificing quality.
Outside of that, Sites is a total power move from Figma. Built-in motion, breakpoints that just work, and even a CMS coming soon where people can edit content from a side panel? Huge. I love that Figma is clearly evolving into an ecosystem—not just a design tool, but something that supports the full build-to-publish workflow. It honestly feels like they’ve been listening to the real pain points we all deal with: move faster, keep it on brand, don’t lose your mind.
For me, the biggest impact is how much more efficient we can be without feeling boxed in. Buzz helps take the weight off for high-volume tasks, and Sites could easily change the way we handle quick-turn or lower-budget web projects. Even the little updates—like live contrast checks for accessibility—show that Figma’s leaning into smart, thoughtful innovation.

The Sites deep dive was my jam. I’ve been watching no-code and low-code platforms evolve for a while, and Figma Sites looks like it might actually crack the sweet spot: quick to launch, easy to use, and still gives you control over SEO and structure. Most of the time, we’re choosing between flexibility and simplicity—this looks like both. It’s clean, it’s customizable, and honestly, it could be a serious contender for clients who want something beyond drag-and-drop but don’t need the full weight of WordPress.
From where I sit, the potential to cut down (or even skip) the development phase on certain projects is huge. I’m always looking for ways to reduce friction between design and execution, and this might be the thing that closes that gap. If the final output stays clean and we have the ability to handle metadata and SEO settings, I can see this becoming a real option in our toolkit.

Although I could only tune in for part of the keynote and The Evolution of Brand Identities session, even that small glimpse was enough to get me seriously hyped about what’s coming to Figma. As a project manager, I’m constantly looking for ways to keep creative workflows efficient and centralized and the updates unveiled in the Day 1 keynote felt like they were speaking directly to that need. The idea that Figma could be a single platform to handle everything from design to content creation to publishing? That’s a dream!
Having more integrated tools means fewer scattered platforms, faster feedback loops, and way less friction between roles. I’m excited about the potential for tighter collaboration and smoother project execution. If even half of these features deliver what they promise, it’ll be a huge win for how we manage timelines, assets, and team communication moving forward.

I was so bummed I couldn’t attend the opening keynote! I definitely had some FOMO as the team was rapidly messaging back and forth in our group chat on the new feature drops. While I haven’t had a chance to watch the keynote yet, I was immediately excited by their excitement. When someone says, “You HAVE to check this out, I’m peeing my pants. This is crazy,” you know it was a solid keynote.
I did get to tune into a couple of talks and one that really stood out was about MouthPad^, a smart mouthwear device that lets users control their phones, computers, and tablets using only their tongue. Like, what?! It’s incredible to see that level of accessibility and innovation in tech. I love that it empowers people to express their creativity and navigate digital spaces hands-free. It’s a reminder that inclusive design isn’t just about compliance, it’s about unlocking potential for everyone.

Config 2025 made one thing clear: Figma is no longer just a design tool. It’s evolving into a full-fledged ecosystem for building, publishing, collaborating, and scaling design-led work.
